my iphone 3gs

i wasn't one of the people who waiting in line for hours on the first day they came out, as a matter of fact, i was quite skeptical of it in the first place but after playing with my friend's iphone, i decided that i wanted one. since i got my iphone in february 2008, i've been a big fan. i've never seen a phone that works so well for what i need and want it to do. not only is it great to be connected by phone, but the email abilities of it when partnered with microsoft exchange are pretty spectacular. right now i am waiting on the jailbreak for iOS 4 so i am not jailbroken at the current time.

it didn't take too long before i wanted more and that lead me to jailbreaking my iphone. it isn't something i would recommend for everyone because it has the potential to make your phone unstable, but being a tweaker, i could really care less about risks.

most recently, i purchased a new iphone 16gb 3gs. i figured it was time for an upgrade since i had the original "2g" model. i haven't jailbroken my 3gs yet. there aren't really tons of apps that i can't live without, but it is the small tweaks that i like the best about jailbreaking. a few of my friends who have iphones have noticed that their phones seem to become slower or possibly have the battery run down quicker so i am just holding off for the time being.

there are quite a number of applications found in the cydia store that make the iphone a great tool. some of them are feature add-ons while others are just apps that either didn't make it into the official app store due to the heavy criteria set by apple. here is a brief list of the applications i had installed using cydia on my old iphone:
